Dusseldorf March 21st

O.K. I need some help here. Our friend told us that most everything will be closed in Dusseldorf on Friday March 21st due to it being Easter. Is this correct? Is it just the shops, or will it be the museums, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Will we be able to find something to eat? Is this for Germany only, or do other countries close down for Easter(ex. Belgium, Netherlands, etc.)? Thanks,

I would expect everything to be open as normal on March 21st about IME - the train station certainly always has restaurants and small grocery stores open

but i'll be interested in know a more definitive answer as i believe you have very misleading info about most everything being closed.

Karfreitag (Easter holiday) is a public holiday in Germany so stores will be closed and very few restaurants will be open. Shops will also be closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

The only day that the shops are open during Easter weekend is the Saturday.

I stand corrected! But the train station is always a resource of food and drink and eateries i would think

Would they be open on the day before, Thursday March 20th? Thanks for the responses thus far.

Thursday before Easter is a normal working day, so business as usual.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 06:30 PM.
