Dusseldorf and Frankfurt

We are attending a conference in Dusseldorf but we will have a few flex days and then 4 days in Frankfurt.

Any suggestions, advice or places we should see.

I read there is a great car museum in Dusseldorf. My husband will love that.

I like walks in parks, museums, checking out castles and sitting in cafes.

Thanks for any suggestion you may have.

Yeah the Classic Remise is in Dusseldorf.

You could use the flex days to go to Stuttgart and see the Porsche Museum and Mercedes Museum.

What time of year will you be there?

We are leaving next week.

If you're into Roman history, there is a reconstructed frontier fort at Saalburg in Bad Homburg, just outside Frankfurt.

If you can find it, Federweißer is out now and should be available until around the end of October. It's a Franconian favorite.

Düsseldorf is a very attractive city, with an elegant shopping street ("Königsallee"), a pictoresque old town ("Karlstadt"), a vibrant bar and restaurant scene ("Altstadt") and an extended riverfront.

See the baroque churches (in the Maxkirche, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Robert Schumann worked as music directors) and the many, many museums of the city, including two world class art museums: K20 for 20th century art and K21 for contemporary art.

The Classic Remise is more than a car museum - you have to see and explore by yourselves. http://remise.de/Classic-Remise-Dues...sh-summary.php

In any case, you should visit the Neanderthal Museum - a breathtaking museum of the history of mankind a few miles from Düsseldorf. You also find there a pretty valley (where the bones have been found) and ice-age anmimals. http://www.neanderthal.de/en/home/index.html
