For day cruises do you recommend buying tickets in advance or can we wait till we get there and see what the weather will be like? Does anyone know of a company that picks us up at the hotel? thanks

I believe our hotel concierge obtained them for us. Our boat was full on our day teip. All lunch tables taken. We were seated with the only other English speakers, a British couple.

It really depends on the dates you wish to make the cruise. At some particular dates it may be sold out. Not sure if this will help cruisesindouroriver.com

Not aware of a company that does that but if you are staying in Porto, public transport or a taxi should be easy to get you there.
