Duomo B&B

Has anyone stayed at the Duomo B&B in Florence? I saw it on InItaly.com but can't seem to find many reviews at all online.

I don't see any reviews on tripadvisor.com either. Are you sure that's the correct/full name?

Here is the website I found it at. Seems to be the correct name.

Sorry Anton that no one has given any personal reviews. I did look and the rooms are nice and the price is decent and you can't go wrong with the location. Maybe you can come back and give us the full scoop on this B&B?

Anton: I am puzzled by this, because I am sure this the Residenza Del Proconsolo where I stayed at the start of August. Look at the address you gave and it has "procs" in it.Take a look and see if this is not the same:http://www.proconsolo.com
I think you should email the Proconsolo and ask them. They are very nice and very helpful. We loved this hotel and plan to stay there again on our trip in April. Please post what you find out.

Anton: I was so puzzled that I emailed Paola at the Proconsolo myself! I will elt you know what I find out.

Anton: If you are still out there, I heard from the Residenza Del Proconsolo, and it is the same hotel as the Duomo B&B. We love it there. The location was perfect, and though it was August and we did get an even better rate, their rooms are very inexpensive. I recommend it and will stay there again in April when I am in Florence with my travel group.

Anton: I would suggest that you contact the B&B at the address Marty has given you. It would not surprise me if you got a lower rate from them than from InItaly.

Now that we know the previous name of the place, you can search on tripadvisor.com to find reviews.

Thanks Marty and everyone...I'm going to check it out right now. Also, how is the noise at this place being right in the center of Florence?

sandi_travelnut Aug 29th, 2005 10:55 AM

If you are sensitive to that, as I have found I am, ask for an interior room or ask whether the rooms with views have double-paned windows for noise reduction. I learned the hard way.

We had interior rooms and, except for the bells in the morning, it could not have been quieter. Proconsolo is not a very noisy street anyway. I think you will like it--especially if you get a good rate. They are very nice people, and their English is very good. Do go to their website to book. Paola also made our museum reservations.
