Dun Aengus & Aran Isles

While they are no doubt beautiful, are they a "must see"? Is the journey over difficult to arrange from Doolin area, and has anyone made the trek in early April? Also, how many hours would you recommend staying?

The ferry doesn't run in early april. It starts about the last week or so and even then can be cancelled due to bad weather etc. The only year round ferry is from north of Galway at Rosseveal.

In my opinion, YES, they are ABSOLUTELY worth seeing. They were amazing.

I found the Aran Islands to be mildly interesting. Not particularly beautiful. Hardly any locals about. Houses not to old. A lot of narrow roads with stone fences. I wouldn't say it's a must see. If you have an interest in round forts then I guess you should see Dun Aengus.

Thanks to all for the feedback. We will be in Rosseveal as well, and may make the trip - weather and desire pending!
