dumb question about euros
on the Aegean Airlines website, it is quoting "19,00" euro for a flight to santorini to athens. Some of the flights are I assume the comma should be a period, and it means its 19 euro, but wanted to confirm in case I am missing something... (and that seems awfully cheap). Some of the flights are 110,00 and some are 19,00 depending on time... morning flights seem more expensive.
sorry and thx in advance for your help! |
ps; sorry for the poor editing. what my post should have read was:

Yes, you got in right. In Europe the comma is used as we in the USA use the decimal point. So yes, it's 19 euro.
|
Yes, in Greece, the period used as a decimal point in the US for currency is replaced with a comma. 19,00 is 19 Euros. Aegean has a limited number of the cheap seats, though. Once they sell out, even the flights that now show as 19 Euros will be more expensive.

Also t axes should be added.

THANKS! I just couldn't beleive the flight could be that cheap (the taxes are higher). I am booking now. thx again.

<<< (the taxes are higher). >>>
Haa Haa. Most of what low costs airlines like to encourage people to believe are "taxes" are levied by the airline themselves to make their headline price look good |
In addition to Alan's comments, make sure you read the FINE print, including luggage allowed (both number of pieces and weight), checkin times, deadlines by which you have to actually receive your pass and have checked luggage, etc. There have been a lot of posts on this forum about "surprises" people have encountered, often too late.

About your title: There is no such thing as a "dumb question". We can learn from any question!!!
Yes, there are some good, very reasonable flights....inter Europe! |
Many European countries use a comma instead of a full stop between Euros and cents, so it sounds right to me.
Check whether the price includes taxes etc. It should do following a recent EU ruling, but may not. |
dfr4848 and not just the fine print - it's amazing the number of people who don't read what's on the page when they are booking
