Dublin to Dingle
 

Can any of you wise souls advise me on the actual realistic driving time from Dublin to Dingle.

We would be leaving Dublin on March 18 at around noon.

It's about 210 miles. Some of the trip is on pretty good roads, but part of the drive will involve narrow, winding road. I'd say six hours is at least somewhat realistic, but that's driving straight through and doesn't include time for stops.

Try www.viamichelin.com. I used this service when I drove in Ireland and found it to be quite good. You'll want a better map of the M50 around Dublin. This trip is pegged at just under 5 hours. Have fun driving!

Thankyou for your quick responses. I guess the only question now is can we get up and out of Dublin by 12:00 noon the day after St. Patrick's Day. Well, we will just have to soldier on...we are really looking forward to a couple of days in Dingle before moving on. We fly out of Dublin on Monday the 22nd, so we don't have much time.

We drove this route in September and in general found that driving times in Ireland were much longer than we anticipated. Traffic was very slow due to small and VERY narrow roads in addition to beautiful sights you might not want to speed past. We spent a night in Kilkenny and drove to Dingle from there.

I would think that the 6 hour estimate is pretty close for just driving time. The N7 is one of the better roads in Ireland but count on stopping a few times, perhaps getting lost in Limerick. If this will be your first attempt at driving on the left, add more time. Otherwise, you'll have a reasonable chance of making it before dark if you leave at 12:00.
