Dublin to Belfast w/o car - family of 4

We are planning a 7 day trip to Ireland in August. Flying in and out of Dublin. Don't want to drive. Plan to stay in Dublin 4 nignts & Belfast 3 nights. Best transportation service between Dublin & Belfast? Please advise of high quality Dublin and Belfast hotels and day trips out of each city, including must see sites. Family of 4 with older teenagers.
Thanks for any assistance!!

I would train between the two cities. There is first class and second and is a very comfortable train.

We like the Westbury in Dublin. Traditional with great central location.

You and your teens will enjoy the train between Dublin and Belfast. It's comfortable and a good way to see the scenery and mingle with local people.
