Dublin Restaurants, Near St. Stephen's Green
 

Hello All,

I've been looking for not the most expensive restaurants, in Dublin, but I am having problems with several menus. Samphire, duck hearts and several other things i can't eat or dont wish to (too spicy for one). I wanted something basic, such as basic Irish, local seafood (not drenched in cutesy,currently "in" ingredients.), or basic Italian, as I believe we will be eating sortof fancy earlier in the trip. Any suggestions that won't put me in the poor house? Thanks.

Everybody's definition of "expensive" is different but we loved Bewleys and found it not expensive for our budget

lovindublin.com Early bird specials everywhere. We love Gallagher's Boxty House in Temple bar. The Duke on Duke St is very basic and good. A carvery lunch there is good. Wagamama is very close to St Stephen's green. Merchant's Arch has an alley by it and you can buy Cornish pastry at a little shop there. Not super close but Fallon and Bryne on Exchequer St. Dunnes are across the street. They have the best deal in their deli. Same food they serve in the restaurant but for ten euro you get a main like Beef Bourguignon and two sides. So good and they have seating and then you can shop in their grocery. We are in and out of there often. I do take out so we have late-night food in the frig. The Bank on College Green is great for drinks. It was a bank. Bewley's is one of my favs also. Pub food is not expensive and I could always eat Guinness Stew or seafood chowder. I eat a lot of salmon there because it is so good so do an early bird fixed price meal and enjoy.

We pride ourselves in sourcing quality Irish produce... - The Duke Pub - The Duke Dublin - One Of Dublin?s Oldest And Finest Pubs. Duke Street. The carvery lunch is really inexpensive. If nothing else go to the food hall at Marks & Spencer on Grafton and get taken away for a picnic in St Stephens.

pittsburgh, just spent a little time looking for this restaurant. I know exactly where it is but must have just walked by it not noticing. It blends in well without any big signage.

I had lunch at Hatch & Sons, and loved it. Charming little dining room.
