Dublin Restaurants?

Hello Dubliners!
I haven't read of any suggestions for great local places to eat (and not necessarily drink)... I say that, because I'll be traveling with someone who does not drink or care for the pub environment... Please, can someone suggest a few great places for 40-somethings to have great lunches and dinners??? Thanks!

If you don't mind Italian in Dublin - there is a restaurant off St. Stephen's Green called MilanO. Excellent Food!

When in Ireland I make the midday meal my main meal of the day and invariably it turns out to be a 'Carvery' lunch at a place such as Madigan's on Middle Earl St, Dublin, Garvey's in Galway, the Queen's Hotel, Ennis, Locke's, in Limerick City, etc., etc. All are basically Pubs but one dines at them economically and the food is generally excellent. They're much nicer than the fast-food outlets: sit-down dining is almost always available.

For the Carvery lunch, most prople are in the establishment for their midday meal. I doubt that qualifies as a "pub environment."

I agree with Ned, the best value to be had for food is the pub grub, its a nice pleasant enviornment now since the smoking ban came in.
