Dublin Ireland Advice Needed

Companion and I will be ending a Globus June tour of Ireland in Dublin, at the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham on Inchicore Road on a Saturday late afternoon. On Sunday, we'll transfer to a Trinity University dorm room for 3 days to explore Dublin on our own. I can check individual attractions for Sunday hours but was wondering what is the general impression of how open everything is on Sunday, especially stores? We were hoping to find a department or small grocery store to buy breakfast and snack items. Any recommendations for what might be in walking distance of the Inchicore Road hotel that would be of interest? We definitely want to visit the Kilmainham Goal. Thanks!
