Dublin Hotels either Westbury or Fitzwilliam
 

Any one ever stayed at either? Can't decide between the two. Thanks!

Hi lenlu, I haven't stayed in either. But my cousin who is married to an Irishman and whose daughter just graduated from Trinity, swears that the Westbury is "the place" in Dublin. I believe it has been renovated recently. Pricey but elegant.

Fitzwilliam, full stop.

Wonderful place.

Stayed there 3 years ago (which is admittedly too long ago for an accurate up to date report but TA still gives it high ratings).

Minimal yet warm design, good food, slick bar and great service. The sort of place you feel as if you have achieved something in life to actually be staying there.

Dublin has lots of "life" and in The Fitzwilliam we felt at the centre of it.

We loved it.

I;ve stayed at the FitzWilliam, and it's a great choice. Comfortable rooms, and there is no better location in all Dublin.

Lenlu, just wondering if you have decided between the Westbury or FitzWilliam?

I stayed at the Fitzwilliam in 09. Great location. Don't know about the Westbury.

Here's part of my tripadvisor review:

"I thought the room was perfect for jet lag recovery - Quiet and Serene and Soothing. I loved the H20 toiletries - the scent was so refreshing and clean - I'm going to buy some for home. Lots of channels on the TV. Bathroom speakers for music - lovely. Loved the shower. The location was fabulous. I would choose the hotel again for comfort and quiet."

Good luck deciding - I was torn between the Fitz and Brooks - it was tough!

Have stayed at the Westbury twice. A great central location, traditional hotel with great service and large rooms. We have always gotten good deals, once in May and one June. Not sure about midsummer.

Well, we booked Westbury but that is because the Fitzwilliam got back to us with a different rate than originally quoted. Very odd to us and quite a bit more, like 50 Euro. Not sure what happened but we were too tired to argue and ask them to track the email correspondence with the time delays. The Westbury looks just as nice and we booked The Kensington in London with them as they are both Doyles. They were very prompt. Thank you so much guys!
