Dublin Hotel Recommendations

Looking for recommendations near the city centre - know all the big names, but which is the best?

Jurys Christchurch seems to be good.
Jennifer
We stayed at Stauntons on Green, on the south side of St. Stephens Green, easy walking access to most city centre. It's a guesthouse, breakfast no other services, can get internet access, lovely building, great staff... Fun! Enjoy your trip!

Jennifer,
the new Four Seasons Dublin is by far the best Hotel in Ireland

My suggestion is that if you want the best, you should go to The Merrion Hotel. It's one of Dublin's best. It's located in the city-centre. As for Roy's suggestion, The Four Seasons is so new, that it can't be judged just yet, and it's located in Ballsbridge.

The Fitzwilliam Hotel (on Stephen's Green at the top of Grafton Street) is also another good option, as is The Clarence (owned by Bono & The Edge) on the Quays...very central.

You didn't mention a price, but you wanted to know the best...I still stick by The Merrion. Good luck and enjoy!

I loved the Clarence, but we did upgrade our room.

The Morrison, as well, is great, if you want something very trendy.

The Gresham has a great location. Avoid Jurys. Nasty place.

Hi folks,
The 4 Seasons is just opening this week and has had a wonderful PR machine making headlines about the hotel - I am not sure whether it has had any guests yet but the location is good and if the PR hype is 1/2 what it claims then interior is great but it is expensive. The Westbury is a Doyle Hotel in the very centre of the city and it is a 4 star I think. Otherwise try the Mespil as they are offering special rates at the moment.

Cathy

My daughter stayed at the Jry's Christchurch Inn...there are two Jury's in Dublin and this is in the best location...it was 66 IEP per room...

Roy,

4 seasons has had some pretty ropey reviews since opening. It seems abit tacky....millions spent on a plush , opulent hotel, and yet they still have a fake fire in the foyet...tacky

If you like "boutique" hotels, then try Browns on Stephen's Green - it also has a great restaurant.

Regards
Jennifer, we stayed at the Westbury last year and it was good. The bedrooms are not as opulent as the public areas, but perfectly satisfactory. The location was excellent.

I've stayed in both Jurys in Dublin. I wouldn't waste my money on either again.
