Dublin hotel

Hi All -

Meeting up with a girlfriend in Dublin the 1st weekend in March and are looking for hotel recommendations. We'd like to stay close to shopping, pubs, etc. but would like to spend around $150/night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I've booked O'Neill's Victorian Pub for our June trip, looks like a nice, inexpensive, central place...

I stayed at the Burlington when I was there. Nice hotel with restaurant, bar and club. If I remember correctly, it was only a 10 mintute walk to Grafton Street for shopping.

Me again -

Am looking at several places... Merrion, Aberdeen & Blakes are all available for 139 Euro/night. The Paramount Hotel & Trinity Lodge also have good rates. Which of these would you pick? Since its two of us girls, not looking for anything romantic, just clean, cute, good location and hopefully with a yummy Irish breakfast.

The Globetrotters Tourist Hostel (www.globetrottersdublin.com) and the Townhouse of Dublin (www.townhouseofdublin.com) share the same front desk and dining room. The same marvelous full Irish breakfast is served to all guests. The hostel is highly rated and one of the best I've ever stayed in. If you want to save money, stay there. If you want more privacy and ambience, stay in the townhouse.

Thanks for everyone's help thusfar. Definitely are not looking for a hostel, but would prefer not to stay at a huge hotel conglomerate. Any other ideas? What about Ballsbridge area? We're only there for 3 nights, so want to maximize our time...

Any thoughts on Blakes Townhouse? Merrion Townhouse?

Thanks again for your insight.

We stayed at Cassidy's and liked it very much. I think it was really close to everything.

We stayed in Ballsbridge last summer and it worked out great. The hotel was just about a block from the train into Dublin which took all of 10 minutes if that. And the breakfast was plenty. Now I need to think of the name....Mt. Herbert Hotel...

Jurys Christchurch is pretty near to everything you want and its a nice little place, nothing too fancy but nice enough to just sleep and use for a base.
