Dublin Hotel

Hi -- anyone have any comments regarding the Royal Dublin Hotel in Dublin ?
Thanks.

Hi,
I've never stayed there but location wise it's very central (although O'Connell st. can be quite noisey especially at weekends). I've eaten in the hotel and it's quite good- staff were very pleasant.

Royal Dublin is indeed on O Connell Street but now that there are new trraffic restrictions on O Connell Street it won't be very noisey,

Cathy

When I said noisey I meant the people on O'Connell st (the last time I was on O'connell st on a weekend night it was pretty rough)

I wouldn't stay on o'Connell St. if I could help it! Can be ver "dodgy"/rough at night and I'm a "Northsider".

Try Buswell's Hotel near St. Stephen's Green. Very nice and convenient.

Check out the Kilronan House. Very nice and not to far a walk from Grafton Square and all the action there.

I agree with Gabby. Even us locals do not go there at nighttime as it can get a bit rough. Plent of nicer places to stay in dublin that are reasonable

Alexander Hotel
Montclair Hotel By Merrion Square
Russelcourt Hotel - Harcourt Street
Harcourt Hotel- Harcourt Street
Parliament Hotel - By Temple Bar
Burlington Hotel - Leeson street
Clarion Stephens hall hotel - Apts, studios and rooms

Check these out and avoid O'connell street and Gardiner Street. Off O'connell it's great for shopping (henry street) but not at night.
I can second nominations for Mont Clare, Stephen's Hall and the Burlington, as I've stayed at them all. The first two are pretty centrally located, the Burlington seemed farther out for us.

The Mont Clare Hotel was recommended to us in Merrion Square. Has anyone an experience with it?
