Dublin for two
 

My mom and I will be spending three days in Dublin at the beginning of April.
Any recommendations as to typical pubs to visit or restaurants to eat in?
We will be staying at the guesthouse of O'Neill's pub, so that's one.
It has also been suggested that we take the Dart to Howth for some fish and chips.

As far as I know O'Neill's pub doesn't open at weekends - it gets an "after work" crowd that thins out quite quickly.

You're very close to Mulligan's in Poolbeg Street - the quintessential Dublin Pub - ask at the guesthouse for details - www.mulligan.ie .

For eating I like wagamama or yamamori for cheap and cheerful noodles - www.wagamama.ie , www.yamamorinoodles.ie . If you're in Dublin at a weekend try the food market in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar - there's a nice Italian there called Il Baccaro too. My current favourite it L'Gueuleton - www.lgueuleton.com - a french restaurant that doesn't take bookings so get there early. There's a goodish place for tapas or just for a drink, directly across the road called The Market Bar - www.marketbar.ie .

All places are within walking distance of your B&B. Don't go any further down Pearse Street than your B&B at night - the area can be rough.

Also stay away from Temple Bar at night unless extreme drunkeness is your thing.

Go to the Queens pub in Dalkey for Bono sightings or do pilgrimage to the U2 HQ on Hanover Quay (not far from where you are staying)
