DUB to SNN, advantage over round trip Dublin
 

I can do either option at essentially the same costs. Is there an advantage to doing the one way?? Any "not to miss" areas on the route in between?? The one way option has a better flight timing and my main interest is scenery.

We are doing SNN to DUB on our trip next month. That way we don't have to double back on our 'semi-circle'. We land in SNN, four days in Ennis, 4 days in Killarney, 3 in Kilkenny, 4 in Dublin.

Scenery is especially beautiful and stunning in the west, along the coast, and in the Burren. If you click on my name, you will find lots of posts about it. Also, SiobhanP, pontoon, lucielou and Italian_Chauffeur have lots of great info, too!

I liked flying in to SNN and out of DUB, with one exception. Since we were going to Boston, we had to take everything off of the plane in Shannon -- carry-ons, sweatshirts, etc. and run through US Customs only to get back on the plane 20 minutes later. It was a little crazy. However, the sights were great! It was really neat seeing Ireland from East to West from the air. We flew really low the whole time, and the flight took us no more than 20 minutes. I would do it again, but I wouldn't bring as much onto the plane and get comfortable the next time :)

We just got back from two weeks in Ireland and France, and spent time in both Dublin and Shannon. The problem with the "direct" flight on Delta from JFK, it sits in Dublin 1.5 hours before going on to Shannon....it would have made more sense for us to just get off there, however they won't let you do that....

Not sure how you are getting permission to fly into one and out of the other airport...but a family pass on the train is not that expensive and it is a nice rountrip...

We have friends in Limerick, so we found it nice, but Dublin is much more exciting to be in, more like London.

I use to fly Delta out of Atlanta. Some days Delta would stop first in Shannon, other days they'd fly to Dublin and back to Shannon. I was always very careful getting my tickets so I wouldn't have that 11/2 wait at one or the others airports. Good luck. Joan
