Driving to Rome
We're driving to Rome (first visit) from Tuscany and hope to park the car at the big car park at Villa Borghese and leave it there for two days while we stay at Giuisy's B&B in Trastevere. Is this a reasonable plan for the car. Has anybody used this carpark or perhaps has a suggestion about other convenient, easy to get to and safe places to deposit a vehicle?
Thanks for any advice. |

In my opinion, yes - - though you may find that you choose to use a taxi to get there and back. Hertz has a "station" there, so you can pick up and return a car there - - maybe other companies also. Best wishes, Rex |
Bringing your message back up "to the top" since you are new here... how did I know that? Click on your own name? Ir's a valuable tip that Fodor's fails to tell you when they send that initial e-mail confirming your registration.

Thanks for your kind reply and the advice. I still can't seem to find the thread (the one I started) using the site's search engine (simply as a quick way to see if anyone responded). Any more advice on the use of the forum will greatly appreciated, Rex.

Hi christophershipley, just click on your name which is at the left side of your screen right after the welcome sign. You should then be able to find all your threads/posts. Take care.

Hi Christopher,
I am actually in Rome right now and we had planned to do as you are now proposing after spending a week in Tuscany (9\24 to 10\1). We ended up dropping the car at the Hertz office in Chiusi, which is right across the street from the train station on the main line to Rome. Chuisi is right off the autostrada (and it was about 20 minutes from our villa in Cetona). It was so easy and saved us any worries about driving in Rome, though my partner was disappointed as he had looked forward to driving in Rome. It only took 1 hr 20 mins on the train to Rome and I am sure that the drive would hve been longer. |
