Driving to Granada...

Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Ronda to Granada? We have tight connections for a tour of the Alhambra that afternoon and need to meet our guide by 2:30. We're staying at the Hotel America beside the Parador...

it takes just over 2 and a half hours according to via michelin.

Jenic,

For safety sake, add another hour to allow for the heavy traffic you will probably hit going through Granada to get uphill to your hotel. You'll need some time for luggage drop and car parking, plus walking over to the meeting point with your guide.

We hit "lunch traffic" in downtown Granada on our last trip, and it was frenetic.

To avoid downtown Granada traffic and an impossibly narrow road to the Alhambra, do not take the exits for "Granada Centro" but instead wait and follow the signs for "circunvalicon" (I think that is how you spell it)and take the exit for Alhambra, which will take you to the top of the hill where the Alhambra and the Hotel America are located. We LOVED the Alhambra. Enjoy your visit!

As has been said before, traffic in Granada is quite heavy, allow another hour for it. We hit a LOT of one way streets and extremely narrow 'streets' before we found our hotel.

The Alhambra is magnificent. But in my opinion and in an entirely different way, so is Ronda. We liked it so much we stayed another two days just to walk/hike and observe the gorges. The McD's by the old bridge must be their most beautiful location in the world (we did not eat there but did use the rest rooms). The Parador is amazing!
