driving to corniglia

We will be driving from Varenna {Lake Como} to Corniglia in CinqueTerre. I have been to Corniglia in the past, but used the train. The pensione where we are staying says that we can park in the car park. I have tried Viamichelin but am unable to get a map with good detail of this area. Has anyone driven into Corniglia/Vernazza? What was the route {LaSpezia in?} or another access?. Taking the train this time is not an option. Thankyou

The road near Vernazza from the north is very bad. I would consider the route thru La Spezia and Riomaggiore.

I was hoping to hear from you Bob, I follow your postings, you are the geru! Have you driven this road, is it shown on Michelins map?

While you're answering that question, maybe you can answer mine? Is it better to park in Monterosso or at the Riomaggiore car park?

It has been 5 tears since I drove that road--it may have improved. It is fine as far as Monterosso and just beyond. It was a disaster close to vernazza. The car park in Monterosso is very big and easy to access. I have not seen the one in Riomaggiore--it too is new.

Oh my--a Freudian slip. Make that years and not tears--maybe it was tears at the time--my wife did not like it.
