Driving times in Spain
I normally use the CW Lease or Shell sites for route planning (just about all over Europe, the driving times I get are roughly 10% over what I actually need, which is ok, because I might drive a bit faster than antecipated by the planners.

In Spain, though, the driving times given by both sites seem to be way overestimated. Take, for instance, the route from Cordoba to Toledo. Both sites give the fastest route going through Ciudad Real, a total distance of 306 km and 5:12 hours driving ??? A Spaniard that is used to drive from Toledo to Cordoba and vice versa informed me that the fastest route is through Madridejos (340km) and that the trip takes at most 3:30 hours! CW Lease and Shell give 5:25/5:27 for the route through Madridejos. That's for sure 2 hours more than it's actually needed!

It looks as if the mentioned route planners "downgrade" Spanish highways and tollways (I haven't found a route yet, even exclusively on toll roads, where the average speed as calculated by the route planners is over 90 km/h!

Does anybody know of a site that is "friendlier" with whom might be in a hurry <g>?

Paul
