Treplow, thanks for mentioning that. As I need to catch a flight back to US, I prefer a route that's as simple as possible. A ferry might cut the distance short but not necessarily the time and i will also expose myself to the risk that the ferry does not operate because of weather for example.

Please just don't forget to report, if you caught your plane or not and when you left.

Sure. I will get more ideas about the highway there on the way out from Zurich to Vienna/Prague and I could then fine tune my plan.

I ended up leaving Hilton Munich Center Hotel at 5:30 am. It took me about 3 hours to drive non-stop to Zurich. After spending 10 minutes filling gas buying breakfast, I arrived at Avis car rental return around 8:50 AM. After some delay getting boarding pass (a woman in TSA role interrogated me for over 7 mins before allowing me to walk to AA counter), a long walk through terminal, and a 5-10 mins wait passing through security screen (there are another Delta flight flying back to US), I finally arrived at the boarding gate around 9:35 AM. Waited for a few minutes and then boarded my 10:20 AA flight back to US.

There are lot of "under construction" along the route I travelled. Whenever possible inside Germany, I travelled at an average speed of 150 KM/H. I pretty much observed speed limit in other places. The traffic was light on a Sunday morning.
