Driving time

Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Florence, Italy to Monaco? Am trying to
plan an excursion from Florence and need to know how long to allow. Can we do it in 3 days? Thanks for any input and/or ideas of where to stay.

you can check the distance and estimated time on mapquest.com.

Katy, it could take you just one day if you want. We drove from Vinci (west of Florence) to Cassis in France in one day. Why not check out the Cinque Terre?

I have found Via Michelin to have very accurate drive times on their service, something I cannot say for mapquest.

I agree with the sources cited here. I can recall making it to or from Pisa to Monaco in about 4-5 hours (busting it), so maybe add another hour from Florence. What they will NOT tell you is that the drive is not nearly as pleasant nor scenic as you might suppose. There are over 150 tunnels between Livorno and Nice. In fact, it's pretty much just tunnel, bridge, tunnel, bridge for a good 100 miles of this route.

Best wishes,

Rex
