Driving maps-time-distances
Hello travelers...I will be in Austria and Northern Italy in the summer of 2007. I have searched the Net and have zipped-out on resoruces for driving maps-distances-driving times, mileage..etc.
For example, from the Dolmite region (Bolzano) area to Venice, Milan, Como, etc... Can anyone point me in the right direction for such resources? I would appreciate the help. Thanks. |
Have you gone to www.mappy.com?

I have used both mappy and viamichelin and liked both...but I always need more time to complete the journey than they allott, so you might take that into account.

We have use both mappy.com and viamichelin.comand found the times listed to be longer than it realy takes (unless there is some sort of roadwaorks or something).
But be aware that these are really useful only for planning. For the trip you will need actual, detailed paper maps covering the entire area you'll be in. (Otherwie you'll be really up the creek when you run into an accident or roadwoarks and need to change routes - or - even decide to hit another town on a day trip or ???) |
Hi
It sounds as if you should get a good road map. Check out the Michelin maps. If there is construction or another problem, you are going to need an alternative to get where you want to go. It's a beautiful area, the Dolmites and Austria. |
