Driving Map Suggestion for Northern Italy

I have misplaced my maps of Italy and have a friend who is taking a holiday there in June. There will be two older ladies and neither have driven in Italy before. I have tried to discourage them from picking up their rental in Rome but they seem to be adamant about it. Is there a specific map that you can suggest. The ones I got before going there I just picked up at book store in states. BTW they do have a Garmin, but often they can have what I call mini strokes and get you off course. Many thanks

Either the Touring Club Italiano (TCI) or the Michelin Maps are good. I use the Michelin Map for Central Italy, which is where I live, and find it better, for my purposes, than the TCI map (which we also have).

Where in Rome are they picking up the car, and what is their first destination?

I agree about the maps - I've used both in Italy.
