Driving in Switzerland late march

Hello, If anyone has driven through Switzerland to Italy in march or early april, could you tell me what the road conditions are like? If it's anything like here in Canada at that time of year, we are confident that we would be fine but I'm not sure what it's like in Europe at this time of year. Thank you.

Main roads are well cleared unless the day of a major storm. Several mountain passes are closed until May or even June - but the main roads - and almost all traffic - goes through one of the (very long - 10/12 mile) tunnels - so the passes being closed isn;t an issue.
