Driving in Iceland in March

I will be in Iceland mid March for a week. I am not used to driving in snow, but like to tour on my own. Will the roads be driveable to the west and southern sights? Can you get to the geyers and waterfalls in March, or is it all snowed in? I would love to see the church steps, could I drive there?

Which church steps are you referring to?

It's hard to say what will be drivable in advance since the weather changes every minute. But the south coast is quite easily accessible and the waterfalls look even more beautiful if it's snowing.

Just rent a decent enough car with good winter/nail tires. Check vedur.is for the weather forecast and download the 112 emergency app if you get in trouble. You should be fine - unless there's a storm or something :)
