Driving in Costa Brava, La Rioja in November?

We're thinking about flying into Barcelona and out of Madrid in late November, perhaps early December. We could take the trains, stopping to see Zaragoza along the way. But we'd prefer to take a car so we could spend some time in medieval towns that can't be reached by train, such as Besalu or Pals, or maybe LaGuardia or Briones.

Will ice or snow be a problem if we decide to drive?

Not as long as you don't happen to cross one of the higher passes between Spain and France, but it can be chilly. As the days are growing shorter, so you'll need to plan your time accordingly.

Thank you! Yes, we are thinking that we don't want to be driving strange roads at night, but we are planning to arrive about 15:00 each afternoon, with the following overnights: Lleida, Zaragoza, Laguardia, Segovia. What will Montserrat be like at that time of year?
