Driving from St. Tropez to Cinque Terre
Does anyone have an idea on what the travel time would be if we were to drive from St. Tropez to Cinque Terre? Thanks,

Where in the CT?

On my map it looks like about 180 miles. I would allow 3 1/2 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions (your last 20-30 miles into Cinque Terre will be very slow).

I'm not sure where exactly in Cinque Terre - I guess we would go to Vernaza first. I went there 15 years ago and have dreamed of taking my family there. I asked because not knowing the region and roads I wasn't sure of "real" time driving. Thanks for any advice.

3.5 hours from the Le Muy intersection on the French A8 to the Via Aurelia intersection on the Italian A12.
At least an hour from St Tropez to the A8 - and a great deal longer in the middle of the summer, unless someone knows of, or someone else has invented, a more reliable road in the last few years. |
It is not as good as 15 years ago but still worth your time.
Michelin says 232 miles in 4:29, but I would allow 5 hours plus stops. Have lunch in Portofino enroute, and stay in Levanto or Monterosso with kids. Very hard to access Vernazza. |
I remember liking monterosso the least of the five towns - more of a typical tourist town than the others. Where is Levanto - that isn't one of the Cinque Terre is it? Thanks!

Levanto is just north of the CT and easy access. It is a nice beach resort town. Manarola is the other good option, but you need to drive thru La Spezia. Do you have a good map?
