Driving from Arles to Beaune

I am driving from Arles to Beaune in September. Can anyone suggest a good overnight stop along the way? Also, any places of interest (vineyards, towns, restaurants etc.) to visit along the way?

Instead of getting immediately on the highway outside of Arles, take the back roads up through Villeneuve lez Avignon and up to Chateauneuf du Pape and visit some of the vineyards there. This drive will take a little over an hour.

PB

since the trip from Arles to Baune is bearly a 4 hour one, (270 miles) and you are determined to make an overnite stop, I guess I would just drive along the back roads to Beaune and stop wherever it strikes your fancy. I'm sure you will see many options for you to consider.
