Driving Alsace to Burgundy

Hello,
We are planning a stop in Alsace on our way from Salzburg to Vezelay (Bungundy). We are taking the train to Strasbourg where we plan to rent a car. We are wondering about the drive from the Alsace Region to Burgundy. Linda has a fear of heights and Erik doesn't like driving tortuous mountain road. An alternative would be to take the train, and pick up a second car in Dijon. Any suggestions?

There are no tortuous mountain roads involved. It's autoroute all the way through Mulhouse, Besançon and Dijon.

It's easy driving--and somewhat scenic as well. You should all enjoy the trip. But about Linda's fear of heights: do you know that Vézelay sits atop a fairly steep hill? I too do not like heights, but I found walking around the area by the cathedral okay; just don't go over to the view spot and look down. It's not all that high, but still...

Hi, thanks for advice. Vezelay is not a problem for me. I've been there. I've even been to Montalcino; the first time I couldn't quite get up to the city, but I went back again determined and conquered it!

If you pass by Belfort, take a detour and go see the Le Corbusier chapel in Ronchamp.
