Drivers for Venice to Florence & Florence to Rome
Any suggestions on English speaking drivers from Venice to Florence and from Florence to Rome? Someone who knows the areas and can point out sights/stops along the way.

Hi PKC,
Are you sure you want to do this trip by car: a very expensive way to take a short trip. Have you looked at train schedules and prices at www.trenitalia.com/en? There's not much in the way of scenery between Venice and Florence. Do you want to stop in Padua or Bologna on the way to Florence, or in Orvieto on the way to Rome? You can see the recommended routes at www.viamichelin.com. |
Hi ira,
First of all, let me say how much I have enjoyed your reports in the past. I've done the train and also a driver. I like the driver because you can stop at different places along the way. But you do have a point about the fact that there is not that much to see between Venice and Florence. For that, I will consider the train but from Florence to Rome, I'd like a driver because I do want to stop in Orvieto. The reason I asked about suggestions is that the prices that I have gotten this time are considerably more that I've paid in the past. Thanks for the advice. |
Hi PKC,
Thanks for the kind words. You can train Florence, Orvieto, Rome. I think that there is luggage storage at Orvieto station. Try Renato Cuomo at www.cuomonet.it. He might be able to help you. However you do it, try to have lunch in the garden at I Sette Consoli Pzza Sant?Angelo 1A phone/fax 39 0763 343911 |
Thanks again, Ira. You are just a wealth of information!
