Driver in Romania

My sister and I are planning on visiting Romania and we're interested in hiring a driver/guide who can take us to translvania and as well as Bucovina to see the painted churches. We'd also like to be driven to Krakow.

Does this sound reasonable?

I suggest that you contact the Romanian National Tourist Office. They should be able to help you.

Look at a map and you will see that going from Romania to Krakow is not that easy. You either have to cross Ukraine or Hungary and Slovakia. I would be surprised if you would find a driver/guide for that multi-national part of the itinerary, although I am sure that you can find one for Bucovina and Transylvania. But here again, these are distinct parts of the country separated by mountains and might demand two different guides.

Suggest you contact Catalin at
[email protected]

He is excellent and will be the perfect guide for you. Speaks fluent, educated English and is a pleasant young man with new vehicles at his disposal.
His company is based in Bucharest, and he recently was hired to help me lead a group of 16 of my readership through all of Romania, including Transylvania and the frescoe'd churches of Bukovina. He was with us, he also provided the small bus and driver, for two weeks. Great sense of humor and an uncanny grasp of the country, customs, roads, etc.

Hi there,

definitely contact Andrei Nicolau at [email protected]. He is known as offering the best Romanian itineraries, highly recommended by National Geographic Society. He has over 15 years of expertise in the area and thru his own travel agency is able to offer excellent tours for a great value.

I see you have received another suggestion before. Beware of scams and amateurs. As a former travel consultant for Romania I know what can happen. Feel free to contact us anytime at [email protected]

Take care,
The Hills
