Driver from Florence to San Gimignano
Would any one know of a reasonably priced Diver to transfer us from Florence to San Gimignano with stops in Greti(Verrazzano) and Montefioralle.
Thanks a lot! |
divers have to go via the sea - a big detour and San Gimi is landlocked - why not just take the frequent buses from Florence to San Gimi and set your own schedule and save a few hundred bucks to boot perhaps.
Google SITA buses Florence for details - buses leave from right next to the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, from the bus station. But not sure if the bus goes that route you want - if they do just get off and back on these very frequent services. |
Check out these guys---thay have many drivers---but expect to pay perhaps 300E for a customized day.

This villa near Florence has a list of drivers. I haven't used them, but some prices are listed (don't know if it's your price range). Friends have stayed here a couple of times and used one of their links. One on the list is based out of Siena (Hills and Roads) so I would imagine you would get a better price based out of Florence
http://www.letorri.com/guided-tours.php The Florence Tourist board has a list. Not sure if it's still on their website. They also have lists of tours, but you would probably have a hard time finding a tour for that exact combo. As for Greti, there are buses from Florence to Greve so I'm sure you could hop off there as it's just outside of Greve. There is a trip report somewhere on Fodor's where some people took the bus to visit Verrazaano (check their website for bus directions). San G is in another direction and there would not be a bus from Greti (or Montefioralle) to San G as it's in another direction/area. There are buses to San G from Florence. |
Try Luca Garapa at www.Hillsandroads.com. We did several day trips with him to some of the hill towns and thought he was great!
