Drive or train ,Rome FCO to Orvieto
We are arriving at Rome Fiumicino around noon, after an overnight flight from Boston. Presently, I have reserved a rental car and plan on driving to Orvieto for a one night stopover, continuing our vacation, primarily in Umbria. ( We'll be needing the car the remainder of the time).I was also considering the train from Rome to Orvieto and picking the car up in Orvieto the following day. Any opinions on which would be the simplest and or the quickest method? Thank you in advance for any imput.

I don't know who you're renting the car from, but in Orvieto the Hertz and AutoEurope office is about 150 meters from the train station. If you want to take the train to Orvieto and really don't want to drive the first day, it might save you one day's worth of rental.

Hi R,
If you want to pick up the car in Orvieto, you take the train from FCO to Rome TE (9.5 E 0:30 hr), and then the train to Orvieto (7E 1 hr). I think it is a wash. ((I)) |
Thanks Ira
That was exactly the information I was looking for. BTW, input, not imput. Sorry! |
You are welcome, R.
If you decide to drive, stay in the right lane, don't go over the speed limit, and ignore everyone else on the road. ((I)) |
