Drive or train from Florence to Cinque Terre???

Two questions? Would you take the train or drive this route?

Second, how hard is it to rent a car for one day one way for this drive when I get to Florence? Auto Europe will only do a three day reservation. Can I get a one day rental, and how much will it cost for a standard car.

Hi Scott
I think a car is more of a liability in the Cinque Terre, much better to use the train.
Make sure you take some sort of boat trip while you are there - taxi boat, excursion, private small boat etc. The Cinque Terre can really only be appreciated completely from the sea.
