drinking water... bottled or tap?

Is there any place in Italy that it is not recommended to drink tap water?

I personally wouldn't drink from the Med.

Roman water is renowned.

The book "Rome and a Villa" gives a delightful overview of the city's various water sources -- some of them entailing use of 2000 year-old aqueducts.

We in NA should be so lucky.

You will see a sign on fountains saying non-potabile if the water isn't safe to drink.
