Dress code for Opera in Florence
 

I am planning to go to the opera in Florence this May. I'm not sure of the dress code. Can my boy friend wear a coat and tie, or shpould he really wear a suit not to look out of place? Thanks.

Where are you sitting? If in a box or front stalls, dress in dinner jacket. Otherwise, a dark suit will do. Up where the gods are, anything goes but save shorts and sneakers for the beach.
