dress code and tipping in Monte Carlo

What is appropriate dress code for daytime wear while touring the sights? Are shorts and sandals o.k. or should we stick to skirts and capris? Also, what is the tipping policy for restaurants and taxi cabs?

Service is usually included in restaurants. You can round up or leave a few euro for good service. You do not need to tip taxis; round up if you like. Wear shorts and sandals. The Grand Casino is another story as far as dress. I believe men need suits and ties, for example.

You can wear anything you want - just don't try to go into the casino (there are various levels of dress required based on what rooms you enter). At night in the inner rooms most people will be in evening dress (think James Bond).
