Dress Code

Can anyone tell me what the expected dress code for men would be in Michelin 3 Star restaurants in Paris for dinner? lunch? Suit? Jacket, slacks and tie? Thanks

When I had lunch at Le Grand Vefour in May, every man in the restaurant wore a jacket and tie.

Jacket and tie are essential. In recent years, at lunch, there are occasional exceptions, but they should be ashamed!<BR>Incidentally, three stars outside of Paris, particularly in the summer, tend to be more casual.

Had dinner at Taillevent last Jan and everyman wore a full suite and tie. <BR><BR>Lunch at Jules Verne (1 star I think) 2 years ago and most were in suit and tie but some were in nice slacks, shirts and sports jackets.

Three star, a suit. Shine those shoes too. Enjoy. By the way, listen to only the guys on these mens' clothing questions. I mean, do you see us getting into women's shoes, I ask you. Well, maybeeeeeeee ...!

Shorts, flip flops, stained white undershirt, you know, just like you dress when you go to one of the finest restaurants anywhere in the world, and yes that includes the US as well!

Paul:<BR><BR>I have only been to Paris one time. However, I noticed the Parisians really dress up in tie and jackets for meals. It's not like the U.S.
