Only one person in lorry, no other person. These lunatics are more than evil. The pictures of the empty baby buggies and people staying with their loved ones that had died just broke my heart. So horrible. I read about the people from Texas on holiday.

Three participants of a highschool graduation trip from Berlin among the dead. One teacher and probably two students.

Tomorrow evening we'll go as planned to the franco-allemand Jour de Fête at Brandenburg Gate and party the night away with lots of champagne after we laid down the flowers at the embassy's gate on Pariser Platz.

I've decided not to be impressed any longer by the actions of criminals. Enough is enough. Je suis sick of this...

Such horror in that beautiful city. Why are they targeting France?
I saw a photo of our apt on the NYT online and remember the wonderful two weeks we spent there. . I can imagine the crowds celebrating Bastille Day on Rue France as well as along the sea front. Beyond comprehension. It goes on and on.
Sending my prayers for the citizens of Nice.

" of course EVERY faith has restrictions against killing people, duh."

That doesn't mean that the religions based on those faiths are not responsible for killing people. (See: Crusades, Inquisition, Burning Times. See: Islamic invasions, honor killings, violent jihad. See even: Buddhist persecution of Muslim minority in Myanmar.)

As soon as the founder of a religion dies, it ceases to be within his (not often her) control. I am sure the Buddha had no idea that Himalayan Buddhism would develop from his teachings.

But we don't yet KNOW who was responsible for this attack.

My heart is so sad for France and all of the families that have lost loved ones.

Why are they targeting France?>

France is fighting ISIS not only in Syria but also in Africa - one of the most combative with ISIS countries plus France has so many young alienated Moslems living and raised in France.

I would love to go to France right now and think many should chose France to show support. Either that or the terrorists win. Chances of being involved in such an attack are miniscule.

Why France? France has a high Muslim population, if the USA was 10% Muslim, instead of 1%, no doubt we would have more attacks than France

There is another thread on this topic, where people are discussing whether this was a terrorist attack. At this point, there is more evidence to suggest it wasn't, than it was. Much is unknown, but obviously people are leaping to conclusions, in particular because the assailant had Tunisian ancestry.

I hope no one minds my being so blunt, but it is absurd to say that the more Muslim citizens or residents there are in a country, the more terrorism that country will have. Really! That is totally fallacious thinking, and any history book will show how so.

Really? Don't they teach math at PC lib school? If there are no Muslims, there is zero chance of Muslim terrorism. If there is one Muslim, the total number of Muslim terrorists possible is one

Pretty simple

I win..........that was easy

Terrorists won't stop me visiting in October.

We'll be there staying in our rented apartment in Paris - unless the new regulations on apartment rentals kill off that opportunity that we visitors love !
