Down Comforters

Looking for shops or companies in Budapest where I can purchase one of those heavenly aged goose down comforters filled with glorious loft that are considered 2nd best in the world (next to Siberian).Info appreciated.

Steinmart?

Oops, not Budapest. But I'm enjoying a wonderful down comforter purchased at SteinMart.

Siberian goose down gets higher and loftier than other down? Do you really believe that, Syl? I thought Stalin killed off those geese years ago.

Unfortunately syl, your title is likely to attract more responses like the ones above. "Down Comforters" could be asking or saying anything about comforters anywhere in Europe.

I would try again w/ a title something like "Where to buy goose down comforters in Budapest?"

janis, good advice. But "Budapest Down Comforters" imported from Hungary CAN be purchased online in the US. Don't know how they are different from the ones syl is asking about, but I agree with Patrick's advice re rugs.

sorry, starrsville - I really was talking more about Voyager's post. Probably should have said ". . . attract more responses like the one above."

I am interested where you can find in stores or order online a european style down comforter in the U.S. The ones I have come upon traveling seem a bit smaller and denser than what I've found available here. Anyone?

The Company Store in Wisconsin sells great comforters, including Hungarian goose down. You can find them at http://www.thecompanystore.com/
You can put in Hungarian as a search word and find their comforters stuffed with Hungarian goose down. We have one of their comforters and it is very well made. We initially ordered one that turned out to be too warm and were able to return it and get one with smaller squares that is just right. They are very helpful over the phone. I don't know how the price would compare to buying a similar comforter in Hungary.
