My Tromsø trip report
Hi
My wife and I went to Tromsø last weekend and I have made a trip report with some photos and you can find it on http://tinyurl.com/yca5rnr . We had a great dinner at Emma's Drømmekjøkken, we did some snowmobile driving with Lyngsfjord Adventure, we took the cable car Fjellheisen up to the mountain top Storsteinen, visited Polaria and Polar museum etc. I hope that the trip report can be of some use to others that are going there. Get in touch on [email protected] if you have any questions or comments.
Regards
Gard

Happy memories from our trip to Tromso two years ago.
However, recurring nightmares with quotes like "We paid 600 kroner for chicken dish for me". My maths is supposed to be fairly good but at £1 - 9.3 K that makes £65 for one dish. Thank you Gordon Brown after 12 years we really are the poor man of Britain.
I remember food being expensive but please say you typing in a zero too many. We would love to revisit but at those prices for average meals we would have to think again!

"We'll be in Stavanger and Tromso in August on a RCCL cruise. GTG?"
Feel free to get in touch when you are getting closer to arraival date. It all depends on when you are here, weekday or weekend etc. Have you got any plans for Stavanger? ;-)

Hi markrosy. When it comes to the food at Egon....it was 600 kroner (about 64£ at the moment) for the food for me, food for my wife and half a liter of wine. And alcohol is expensive in Norway I'm afraid. I think each of the dish was about 20£

Hi Gard.
That is around double the UK.
I am really glad that you were able to go on the snowmobiles. In Tromso there alway seems to be a tradeoff between having clear skies/little snow but being able to see the northern lights and having clouds/snow but no northern lights.
For our visit we had little snow but clear nights so lots of lights. We would have loved to go dog sledding/ snowmobiling but were not able to.
Maybe next time.
We also loved Polaris and the Bearded Seals. My son still takes one to bed every night. The closest we came to a snow mobile was the model in Polaris reception!
