Dover cliffs

I am taking the train to Dover and would like to store my luggage somewhere for a couple of hours or so to look around before continuing my trip. Does the station provide storage space? Is there anything to see at Dover besides the white cliffs?

The Castle and its associated museum:

National Rail says there's no left luggage facilities at the station. You could try contacting the Tourist Information Centre:

Sorry, I can't answer your question regarding the luggage storage at the train station.

Several years ago I went to Dover Castle and thoroughly enjoyed myself. You can easily spend several hours at Dover Castle, touring the World War II caves, the keep, the Norman church, and the other structures.

Also, St. Margarets at Cliffe provided beautiful views of the white cliffs and the coast of France.

One of the finest most awesome castles anywhere - Dover Castle is wedged into the cliffs right above the Eastern Docks, which used to have luggage lockers years ago but probably shut down due to terrorism fears. I doubt if Dover train station has lockers.

Only a very few British railway stations have left luggage facilities, and Dover certainly does not. Try contacting the tourist office, as Patrick suggested.

How far is it from the train station to the castle?

And if you go to the Castle, you'll have to go back down to the sea-front if you want to find the path up on to the White Cliffs.

Here are some photos from a group walk I did there last summer:

According to the English Heritage information above, the Castle is a mile and a half from the station, but there are buses.

the castle is 1.5 miles uphill - take the bus.

But luggage wil be a problem - where are you going after Dover. Since the castle alone is worth a minimum of 1/2 a day, it might make sense to spend the night in Dover. You could leave your bags at you B&B and have plenty of time to explore the castle, the cliffs, maybe Deal and Walmer castles too.
