Doubletree Courthouse in London?
 

Has anyone stayed here? The reviews on Tripadvisor are mixed, but the location seems good. It will be an award stay. I'm particularly wondering about the quality of the rooms, and if you had a problem with cigarette smoke.

Stayed there when we arrange a family celebration for my parents in law's 40th wedding anniversay 4 years ago when it first opened (then a Kempinski). Great location and really liked the hotel. Public areas were very good and the rooms were of a high standard for this grade of hotel (but we did get upgraded). I am an avid non smoker and dont recall a problem with smoking. Of course things may have changed under Hilton.

Like Crellston we stayed there a couple of years ago when it was a Kempinksi.

No problems that I recall although the bedrooms lacked that little extra style one would hope for from a five star establishment. Service and breakfast were fine and the location is indeed excellent if you want to close to Oxford Street, Soho and most of Theatreland.

Thanks for the input! I'm deciding between that and the Hilton Trafalgar. I'm sure the rooms are a little nicer at the Trafalglar because it's a newer building, but the proximity of the Doubletree to the theaters make it tempting.

The Trafalgar is also an excellent location. Maybe 150-200 yards father walk to theatres in soho.

One is near Oxford Circus tube station the other is near Charing Cross.

The Courthouse is across the street from Liberty and Trafalgar Sq is across the street from the National Gallery.

Both are terrific locations.
