We stay at Hotel de L'Esperance when in Paris. http://www.hoteldelesperance.fr/ Db room with a shower is 78E. I think breakfast is 6E. The hotel is very comfortable and clean.

The Rue Mouffetard neighborhood is charming. We never order breakfast because there is a wonderful bakery down the street. We can carry our patries across the street to our fav cafe. There's a fountain in the middle of the street and a park on the other side and great people watching..what I wouldn't give to be sitting there right now!

After staying at the Hotel Jeanne d'Arc for 10 nights in December, consider this another recommendation. The neighborhood is wonderful and close to a major Metro stop. The staff was terrific - above and beyond (long story but I ended up in the hospital and they were so great about helping out with doctors, extending my stay, etc.). The hotel is so homey that I kept referring to it as my apartment. Think the large double room was 80 Euro and breakfast was 5-6 Euro.

I have used this site before to book budget accomodations for my parents, who insisted on having breakfast included in their rate (and it is):

Another hotel to consider in your price range even if you have to buy the breakfast is Hotel Muguet. I hope I spelled that right. Seems like is about 110 euros. It is very close to rue Clar and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower.

Muguet was 125 euro for a double in September - but I agree that it was in a good location.

If considering the Hotel Chopin, a better choice is the Hotel Vivienne, about a half block away [[email protected]].

Right-click on the title, and use the 'add to favorites' in the menu.

If you will be there more than 3 days, you may want to consider an apartment. In our own search we found that vacationinparis.com had quite a few studios and some one bedrooms in your price range. Other apartment sources had similar. We used vacationinparis because we were able to pay by credit card in dollars, locking in a dollar rate.

Another vote for Hotel Monge. I sent a girlfriend there recently because of recommendations on this forum, she thought it was great.

Definite Hotel Monge-close to two metor stops in a residential area and some great restaurants for the evening just a couple blocks over. In February it was about 80 euros for two.
