Double Room with Breakfast under 110 Euros in Paris

It depends on when you are going - rates change dramatically with the season. Is there a part of Paris that you prefer?

Also haven't stayed, but did ask about rates over Easter. Great location, gets wonderful reviews.

I'm planning to go next June. I don't have a preference when it comes to the area. I've been to Paris just once and I stayed at a nice hotel near Gare de Lyon, but that's not a central area at all and Paris isn't exactly a small, walkable city.

Check out www.HotelJeannedarc.com. The prices are very reasonable, the place has charm and character and it's very well located in the Marais. It's well under your budget. There's no luxury yet it's incredibly pleasant for a budget lodging. We stayed there a few years ago with a party of 7 and loved it. There's a small square full of restaurants (full of locals) just outside the doors of the hotel. We would stay there again, in a heartbeat.

I believe Hotel Residence Monge runs in that range, too.

Consider Hotel Residence Monge in the 5th and walk across the street to a cafe for a cafe and baguette. Personally I would not look for a hotel with breakfast.

..personally I ALWAYS find a hotel with breakfast, even if I don't eat it.. I want that coffee! Last thing I want to do on vacation is get all "tarted up" just to go out for a cup.
So, I can recommend the Hotel St. Andre des Arts in the 6th. Coffee is free; and it fits in your budget.
For 99E's, a single at the Hotel Relais du Louvre brings coffee, juice, fresh warm pastry to your room at whenever you tell them. Starts off a vacation day heavenly...(its in the 1eme).
Way up in the 17th, we enjoyed the Monceau Wagram, breakfast was free...and I think we captured a deal becuase it was only $75. a night and it is a 3*... I enjoyed the neighborhood ALOT.

For just 5 euro more, you can get a double with breakfast at Hotel du Lys, rue Serpente, in the 6th. Great location, decent size rooms (for Paris), lots of charm.

As an opinion, I would look to having breakfast at a nice cafe nearby, where you can sit and start your day experiencing Paris the way the locals do, take time to plan your day, sit out on the patio, watch the world go by. Same food, but a totally different experience.

Money wise, you will be ahead...My visits have led me to believe hotel breakfasts to be overpriced.

But, as the french say 'chacun a son gôut' (different strokes..)

Our favorite small centrally-located hotel is the Hotel Andrea Rivoli, just off Rue Rivoli on Rue Bon, about 4 blocks from Notre Dame, 1 block from the Pompideu and 6-7 blocks from the Louvre. The rooms are small but ok. Last time we were there a couple years ago it was 82 euros for a double.

The breakfast is not usually included with the price of the room as it is at the hotels in Austria and Bavaria.

Sometimes, the cost of the breakfast will be added in as a special.
I usually find a bakery not far from the hotel. La Brioche Doree is a good bet. It is a chain all over Paris.

Otherwise, look for a neighborhood bakery. I stayed at a hotel on Boulevard Raspail and across the street was a bakery that had the usual items plus yogurt in individual containers.

I speak about as much French as my cat and the young lady behind the counter knew an equal amount of English, but I got my pastries, yogurt, and tea.

By the third morning she did not ask, she just got the items!! Then she would enter the amount on the cash register, let me have a look, and wait for me to dig into my billfold for the money.

Then I would go back to my room and we would enjoy our breakfast in our room.

One day, we wanted to walk up to the Luxembourg Gardens and eat there. Well, my items barely made across Boulevard Montparnasse. I had to stop to recruit reinforcements.


That bakery situation is one of the problems with a visit to Paris. There are so many of them that they hinder progress while walking. Each one requires a stop.

I'm in SuzieC's camp...The breakfast is good at my hotel and 'included' in the room rate. Some websites have it priced at 6 Euro.. pot of coffee, oj, 3 breads, 'cream cheese', honey, butter, jams. I go down to the breakfast room in my slippers, and go back up to finish dressing and gathering my stuff for the day's outing. Sometimes I carry a 2nd cup back to the room.

It's true that hotel breakfast may be overpriced, but for some hotels, I found it comparable to the local cafes. For example, the hotel I stayed at, the Hotel du College de France, offered an optional continental breakfast for 8 Euros, and the nearby cafes had just coffee and croissant for 6 or 8 euros. Now, if you're basically a coffee and toast kind of person, and can't stomach anything bigger than that, then the cafe route would be ideal. But if you need bigger breakfast, such as cereal, milk, OJ, yougurt and the like, the continental does offer more for the value - providing it doesn't exceed 6-8 euros.

The continental breakfast I had maybe every other day, sustained me well until mid afternoon, which was great for museum hopping -- especially at the Louvre. It all depends on how you like your breakfast.

Having said that, if you're a coffee person, many hotel may have coffee service, whether or not they offer breakfast, so you could enquire about it when booking.

We have stayed at the Hotel Victoria Chatelet many times and have referred many others there as well.

The best part of this hotel, other than the friendly staff, is its location. A few blocks from the Hotel de Ville, the Louvre, Notra Dame, etc.

Haven't been in a while so you'll need to check pricing.

I think the OP means that price is to include the price of breakfast or something, but I think very few hotels in Paris do that, breakfast is always an extra fee (as it should be). Even places that quote you rates with breakfast are probably just adding the two prices together and you aren't required to pay for it if you don't want to. Now I know some folks say they have hotels that include it in the rate, but that is really rare. Room rates vary so much anyway, I don't think you can really know if they do or are just forcing you to pay for it which they aren't allowed to do.

Anyway, it is not difficult just to find a hotel that can serve breakfast or coffee as they virtually all do because they make so much money from the breakfast for one thing (very profitable), but also because it is required by the French agency that classifies hotels by star ratings. Every hotel from 1* up is required to serve some sort of breakfast, so the only ones that won't have it will be ones that don't want to be rated and have no stars at all.

I think the hotel that gives you free coffee would be nice, though, as that's all I want at the hotel, anyway.

I haven't stayed there, but I've read good things about the Hotel Chopin and
the Hotel Ribera.
