D'Orsay Museum Paris Quick Question RE: Impressionist paintings

Leaving tonight the D'Orsay website says that the impressionist rooms are still under renovation and won't return to the newly renovated rooms until October 20 (the day I come home!). Is this true? Sometimes the websites are not updated and want to check with folks who are there or just came back.

thanks

That is, so to speak, my impression

I am guessing that for several nights before they are going to have special showings and fund raisers. If you are terribly motivated, you can stop by the museum in the next few days and try to buy or wangle your way in -- slim chance, but bon courage!

It is true. They have moved a FEW of the pieces down stairs but most have been loaned out or not for public viewing.

The Impressionist paintings that aren't on loan are in rooms on the first floor now and there are still quite a few of them, including works by the well known masters of the genre. I wouldn't let the fact that some of the works aren't on display stop you from going to the Orsay because it is still loaded with many other fantastic works of art.

And please do note that it is the Orsay and not the D'Orsay. Or else you'll have to call that other big museum the Du Louvre.
