dordogne to paris

we are visiting the Dordogne region next month. We are going to fly into bergerac and rent a car for a few days. I am trying to determine the best itinerary or town to drop the car and return to Paris by train. Sarlat? Brive? Drive up to perigueux? As we are only there for a few days, I need to be "efficient". Suggestions?

Brive would be the most efficient. In fact, if you are willing to catch a very early morning train, there is one that goes to CDG from Brive, assuming that you are flying out of CDG.

Another vote for Brive. You can generally leave the car there even if booked in Bergerac, and it's 4 hours to Paris.

There is no direct train from Sarlat. It's either coach to Souillac and then train to Paris (often with a change in Brive) or west to Libourne or Bordeax, with a change.

Like Michael and Carlux, we have used Brive as our drop off point--easy! Look for PREM fares several weeks in advance to save a few euros.

Need another vote for Brive? You have mine. Have a great visit to the beautiful Dordogne!
