I have to say that I haven't been to Chez Jeanne for a few years, but I don't suppose it has changed much. They do an 'ouvrier' or simple labourer's lunch during the week, and a more extensive Sunday lunch. Had great roast lamb and one of the best cepe omelettes ever a few years ago.
Regarding parking for JulieVikmanis - there is a parking area at the bottom of the hill leading up to your hotel. Right in front of the Sous-Prefecture/Gendarmerie. It has always been free, but just today became paying. 9-12, and 2-7 as far as I know, and so it should be possible to park there free when going to dinner. Assuming you can find a place, as the town will be busy. |
Carlux, now that's first hand info!! Thanks so much.

Thanks to ALL. I'm salivating!!
Julie, we'll be in "histoirc center" Sarlat during some of your time nearby--leaving Sarlat the a.m.of June 4. Perhaps we'll see you at one of the meals. |
CaliNurse, We get into Sarlat on June 2nd, and be there also on June 3 before you leave on the 4th. Don't have my notes with me right now (off babysitting grandchildren) but I'll be back home next week and can find out where we're dining both nights and let you know. Perhaps we can arrange to dine at the same place one night or at least meet for a drink before dinner to compare notes on our respective Dordogne experiences and swap restaurant recs. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
